I'm on Fire is a Springsteen classic - one that I have loved pretty much ever since I first heard it. And as an artist one of my favourite things about him is the way he just embraces contemporary talent like Bareilles and lets their freshness breathe a different life into his songs: a life that gives his words a legacy that doesn't rely solely on his singing of them. (Although that said, his versions are still my favourite - no-one out-Bosses The Boss in my books). This is one of my absolute all time favourite covers, by a woman who has such a beautiful, earthy and formidable spirit in her music, Sara Bareilles. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
